The good news is that you have both!
You may not have the athletic skill or talent of a professionals athlete or singer. You may not have the natural talent for working with numbers like a mathematician. But, you do have skills and talent.
In the excellent audio programs by Marcus Buckingham titled, First Break All the Rules, and Then Discover Your Talents, I learned that we all have strengths that can be used to our advantage. We just need to understand where our strengths lie, how we can continue to grow them, and how we can put them to use.
Your talent may be something simple like very strong patience. Well, there are many ways that you can put that talent to work. Your talent may be persuasion. You are a salesperson in the making.
When you work on things that will make you better, skills are developed. When strengths are discovered that come naturally, you discover your talents.
I strongly recommend the audio programs to everyone. The good news that you will gain from the programs is that you have skills and talents.

I must agree on this ... I may only have a small bit of natural TALENT in my hobby/home-side business, but I try to LEARN the new SKILLS I need to get better at what I'm doing. A class or two here & there always helps me to learn something new that I didn't know before.
Sharon, that is a great insight and I must agree that you are very open to learning and improving! And you have more talent than you think.
